Boy do we have exciting data to share with you! After our 19 day long experiment comes to a close, we have great results. We planted 50 Bibb lettuce plants in soil and in our raft bed under the same light intensity, air temperature, and iron concentrations. After 19 days passed, we harvested a sample of 16 plants and compared the total masses of the plants! It is clear that after just 19 days the aquaponically grown lettuce has the advantage. The aquaponics lettuce grew to be more than three times the mass of traditionally grown lettuce. This data is perfect to send to our friends that are international college students, exemplifying the benefits of aquaponics as the future of farming!
